| 內容簡介 | 是冊共計二十幅繡畫，其中十八幅所繡為十八羅漢之神通故事，另二幅所繡，一為觀世音菩薩與善財童子，一為韋陀天。每幅故事簡易明白。全冊運用各色深淺繡線視圖案所需，再以各種不同針法，交相使用，層層繡出。冊頁繡幅雖小，因設色鮮艷明亮，繡工亦極精整，故人物表情與動態均生動傳神，使觀賞者易於了解，有助教化作用，今選其中部份展出。 |
| Description | This album is comprised of 20 leaves, 18 of which represent stories of lohans. The other two represent Kuan-yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and Wei-t’o, Defender of the Faith. The clear illustration of the stories is complemented by the lively method of depiction. Threads of various colors range from light to dark, depending on the subject. Combined with different techniques of embroidery, the layers seem to stand out, giving the works a realistic and three-dimensional quality. Although small, the opulent coloring and fine craftsmanship convey the liveliness and expressions of the figures. Thus, the content of the works is easy to comprehend, serving a didactic function. Part of the album has been chosen for display here. |
