The covered kendi has long neck, flat mouth, and curved wall. The cover has a knob at the top, and the abdomen of the vessel is connected to a breast-shaped pouring spout. The base of the kendi is flat and unglazed. The mouth of the kendi is decorated with five-petal flowers, and the top portion of the neck is decorated with a band of curly grass motifs. The shoulder features lotus petal motifs, and the two sides of the abdomen depict lions at play with cloud patterns. The decorative motifs may have originated from blue and white porcelain produced at Jingdezhen in Yuan.
