| 內容簡介 |
陳舒，字原舒，號道山，江蘇華亭山。順治六年（西元一六四九年）進士，官布政使參議。工花鳥、草蟲，似不經意而多姿趣。
本幅名「天中佳卉」，天中即端午節，故所繪均為陰曆五月時節花卉，如石榴、夾竹桃、萱草等，再配以奇石。畫花卉或以沒骨法體染而成；或先鈎後填彩，然筆意疏簡，饒有韻致。

Ch’en Shu (fl. 17th c.)
Ch’ing Dynasty
Ch’en Shu (style name Yuan-shu and sobriquet Tao-shan) was a native of Hua-t’ing, Kiangsu. He received his chih-shih civil service degree in 1649 and went on to serve as Assistant Provincial Commissioner. A skilled painter of birds-and-flowers as well as insects-and-grasses, his casual brushwork was still able to capture the varied appearances of his subjects.
Depicted in this painting are pomegranate blossoms, oleander, day lilies, and other flowers associated with the fifth lunar month. These summer blossoms are accompanied by decorative rocks. Ch’en has employed both the “boneless” method of ink washes as well as the outline method filled with colors for rendering the different flowers to give a refined and sophisticated feel to the entire work.
