| 內容簡介 |
仇英（約西元一四九四至一五五二年），字實父，江蘇太倉人。少時移居蘇州為學徒，可能以臨仿古畫為業。後學畫於周臣，又受到文徵明的賞識，與蘇州文人時有往來，由文氏引介，曾先後在大收藏家項元汴和陳官等人家作畫。項聲表稱他：「所覽宋元名畫千有餘矣，又得性天之授，餐霞吸露，無煙火氣息。」被譽為明四大家之一。
繪庭院中群嬰嬉戲之歡樂景象。或彈琴、或騎木馬、或讀書等，表現出孩童生活的情趣。此圖人物畫法與仇英平日筆不相類近，恐係後人偽託。

| Description |
Children/ Ch’iu Ying, style name Shih-fu, was a native of T’ai-ts’ang, Kiangsu When he was young, he moved to Soochow to study, and possibly earned his living by copying ancient masterpieces. He later studied painting from Chou Ch’en and thus became acquainted with Soochow’s artistic and literary community. His talents were recognized by Wen Cheng-ming who introduced him to the collector Hsiang Yuan-pian and Ch’en Kuan-chia of Ch’ang-chou, who became his patrons. Ch’iu Ying’s contemporaries praised his talents writing: "He saw over a thousand Sung and Yuan paintings. Exceedingly gifted, he dined on mist and drank of dew, forgoing the foods of other mortals." Ch’iu Ying is considered one of the Four Masters of the Ming Dynasty.
This happy scene depicts a group of children playing in a courtyard. Whether reading, playing a musical instrument or riding a wooden horse, they each express the joyful circumstances of youth. The painting style seen in this work is quite different from Ch’iu Ying’s usual manner, and it is likely that this is a later work by a different artist.
