| 內容簡介 |
曹有光（十七世紀後半）原本是江蘇蘇州人，後來寄寓在杭州西湖。康熙三年得中進士，也兼善作書、畫。
本幅選自「曹有光孫枎畫冊」。畫中，只見一隻腹部特別肥大的螽斯，獨自棲息在豆葉上。右方留白處，並有畫家自題的詩句，點出了創作的季節與主題。由於是採用泥金紙來作畫，加上落筆快捷銳利，而且顏色鮮豔，所以整件作品，能在華麗當中，散發出繽紛的視覺美感。

| Description |
Ts’ao Yu-kuang, originally a native of Soochow, later resided by West Lake in Hangchow. A chin-shih civil service graduate of 1664, he was a scholar who also excelled at painting and calligraphy.
This work, from “Album of Paintings by Ts’ao Yu-kuang and Sun Fu” shows a katydid with an extremely large body sitting alone at the tip of a pea plant with a thorny branch extending below. In the space at the upper left is a poem inscribed by the artist, providing the season and the subject indicated in the title. This work was painted on gold-flecked paper, which did not absorb ink very well. Thus, despite the opulent coloring and moist and rapid brushwork, this work nonetheless conveys a fresh sense of visual harmony and beauty.
