| 內容簡介 | 周之冕（約活動於西元一五四二－一六○六年），字服卿，號少谷，江蘇長洲人。生卒年不詳。擅長書畫，尤攻花鳥。家中蓄養各種禽鳥，以狀寫其飲啄飛止動態見長。 本冊傳為周之冕之作。設色畫河浦鴛鴦、石榴鬥雞、芭蕉奇石、水仙雉雞等小景十幅。構圖妥貼，極富生意。然用筆較為生硬，恐非周氏真蹟。 |
| Description | Sketching from Life Attributed to Chou Chih-mien (fl. Ca. 1542-1606) Ming Dynasty Chou Chih-mien (style name Fu-ch’ing; sobriquet Shao-ku) was a native of Ch’ang-chou in Kiangsu province. Although his birth and death dates are unknown, he achieved fame for his calligraphy and painting, especially his depictions of birds and flowers. It is even said that Chou raised many kinds of birds at home in order to study their various activities and movements. This album, which is attributed to Chou Chih-mien, includes ten leaves which depict such intimate subjects as mandarin ducks on a shore, pomegranate trees with roosters, banana trees with exotic rocks, and narcissi with pheasants. The compositions are stable yet quite lively, but the brushwork is somewhat stiff, indicating if may not be from the hand of Chou. |
