王武（西元一六三二－一六九○年）字勤中，號忘庵。吳縣（江蘇蘇州）人。家中富於收藏，經常鑽研臨習，務得其法。尤其擅長花鳥畫，神韻生動，妙得天真。
此卷以水墨寫意的畫法，描繪幾種秋冬時節的花果，有秋葵、海棠、菊花、桂花、梅花、柑橘、天竺等。花葉俯仰相背，枝椏橫斜，互有呼應，若有情意。筆法雖然率意，卻不失精細，顯現了秀逸雅致的一面。

| Description |
Wang Wu, a native of Soochow, came from a family with an extensive collection of art, which he copied and studied. He was especially skilled at painting flowers, achieving the spirit and likeness of his subject.
This handscroll was painted in monochrome ink in the “sketching ideas” manner. Depicted are flowers and fruits of autumn and winter, including hollyhocks, begonias, chrysanthemums, cassia, plum blossoms, citrus, and geraniums. The flowers and leaves twist and turn in a variety of poses and angles that give a lively sense to the work. Though the brushwork is sketchy, none of the details have been lost as the artist has revealed the elegant and refined side to the subject matter.
