內容簡介	胡錫珪（1839－1883），初名文，字三橋，號盤溪外史、紅茵館主、室名盤溪小築、紅茵館。江蘇蘇州人。布衣，長居吳下。幼習丹青，夙根早慧，涉筆便有韻緻。及長，便諸家之法，於惲壽平、華喦、李鱓、改琦用力更多。最善沒骨人物，筆墨生動，時罕其匹。此幅描畫一位仕女，低頭步行於叢竹之間。修竹幾竿，錯落有致，景色清新幽靜。筆墨運用結合勾勒與沒骨，敷色潔雅，線條柔和流暢，益見清逸秀美。胡家源先生捐贈於民國97年。(20110204)
Description	Hu Xigui (original name Wen; style name Sanqiao; sobriquets Panxi waishi and Hongyin guanzhu; studio names Panxi xiaozhu and Hongyinguan) was a native of Suzhou in Jiangsu. A commoner, he lived for some time in the Suzhou region. Excelling at painting since childhood, his natural talent bloomed early as he took up the brush with great refinement. He excelled at the methods of various masters, applying particular emphasis on those of Yun Shouping, Hua Yan, Li Shan, and Gai Qi. He excelled most at the “boneless” method of color washes to depict figures, his brush and ink being lively and rare at the time. This work depicts a lady looking down as she takes a walk in a bamboo grove. A few slender stalks of bamboo are scattered in a fresh and serene scene. The use of brush and ink combines outline and wash methods along with pure and elegant colors. The lines are also tender and flowing, revealing clearly a sense of pure ease and refined beauty. Mr. Hu Chia-yuan donated this work to the National Palace Museum in 2008.(20110204)
