胡璋(一八四八-一八九九)字鐵梅,安徽桐城人;倪田(一八五五-一九一九),字墨耕,江蘇揚州人。虛谷(一八二三-一八九六),號紫陽山人,安徽歙縣人。三人均曾寓居上海,為清末海上派健將。
本幅為林柏亭先生捐贈。光緒十九年胡璋先畫墨梅,翌年倪田續畫水仙,最後由虛谷補成松樹。三家原本各有自家面貌,但為能於聯手創作中取得諧調,刻意掩去本色,因此筆墨特為清雅,殊屬少見。(20100103)

| Description |
Hu Zhang (style name Tiemei) was a native of Tongcheng, Anhui; Ni Tian (style name Mogeng) of Yangzhou, Jiangsu; and Xugu (sobriquet Ziyang shanren) of Shexian, Anhui. The three all resided in Shanghai and were masters in the Shanghai School.
In this work donated to the Museum by Mr. Lin Po-ting, Hu Zhang first did the ink plum blossoms in 1893, with Ni Tian doing the narcissi in the following year, and Xugu finally adding the pine. These artists all had their own styles, but they were able to work together to make a harmonious painting, intentionally downplaying their individual manners. As a result, the use of brush and ink is especially light and elegant, thus making this an exceptionally fine and rare work.(20100103)

胡璋(1848-1899)、字は鉄梅、安徽桐城の人。倪田(1855-1919)、字は墨耕、江蘇揚州の人。虚谷(1823-1896)、号は紫陽山人、安徽歙県の人。三人とも上海に寓居していた。清代末期の海上派を代表する人物である。
清代光緒19年(1893)、まず先に胡璋が墨梅を描き、翌年、倪田が水仙を描き、最後に虚谷が松を描き入れた。それぞれ独自の画風を持つが、合作のために意図して本来の個性を抑えており、筆墨は清らかで気高く、稀に見る作品となっている。林柏亭氏寄贈。
