內容簡介	陳衡恪（西元一八七六－一九二三年），江西義寧（即今江西修水）人。字師曾，號朽者，朽道人，號所居日槐堂。天稟慧絕，十歲能為擘窠書，塗抹雲煙，工詩文，世以奇童目之。曾赴日本習博物，工篆刻，鎔鑄秦漢，古拙純樸，書法則篆籀隸真行諸體無不工。　　本幅畫籐蔓瓜果，筆力蒼勁，追法陳淳、徐渭，並參用吳昌碩筆意，鉤多染少，雖不肖似，亦得其大略之意。
Description	Ch’en Heng-K’o (style name Shih-tseng; sobriquets Hsiu-che and Hsiu-tao-jen) was a native of Hsiu-shui, Kianghsi. Extremely talented, he was able to write large character calligraphy at ten, At the same time, he did landscapes, composed poems, and was regarded as a child prodigy. Later he went to Japan to study natural history. He was also very skilled at seal carving in every style with simple and antique flavor. In this painting Ch’en has emulated the styles of Ch’en Ch’un (1483-1544) and Hsu Wei (1521-1593), and captured the essence of Wu Ch’ang-shih (1844-1927). Brushstrokes depicting vines and melons are verdant and forceful, with manu outlinings and little wash. Although he was not concerned about obtaining a resemblance, Ch’en has nonetheless captured a realistic effect.
