| 內容簡介 |
呂鳳子（西元一八八六至一九五九年）原名濬，字鳳癡，別署鳳先生，江蘇丹陽人。清末兩江優級師範圖畫手工科畢業。擅長書畫，畫人物、仕女、佛像，別具風格。間作山水亦超脫。工隸書，行、草皆以篆隸之法行之，古雅奇肆，殊異常蹊。
江岸堤畔，楊柳垂絲，佳人獨立，凝眸遠視，似有無限思緒。隔江坡陀平岸，墨筆輕抹。幅中仕女用筆簡率，草草若不經意，設色清麗雅澹，得淡遠之趣。

| Description |
Lü Feng-tzu was a native of Tan-yang, Kiangsu. (He was also known as Lü Chün; his style-name was Feng-tz’u, and he was called Mr. Phoenix.) A graduate of the Liang-chiang Yu-chi Normal School of Art, he was noted for his paintings of women and of Buddhist images. He also produced exceptional landscapes. An accomplished calligrapher, he excelled in the clerical script, and even when he wrote in the more cursive running or grass scripts he still executed the characters as if he were writing in the ancient seal or clerical styles. His calligraphic works are known for their unusual qualities of antique grace.
On the bank of a river beneath the trailing branches of a willow stands a beautiful solitary woman, staring off into space as if lost in thought.
In terms of technique, the rising plateau of the far bank is brushed in light sweeping strokes, while the figure of the woman is limned in simple, straightforward lines that have been loosely, almost carelessly, defined. Colored from a delicate palette, the painting’s hues become paler as they recede into the distance.
