呂學,活動於十七世紀後半,字時毓,號海岳,烏程(今浙江湖州人)。工人物,擅寫照,兼善山水。
本幅表現東方朔長途跋涉,登上崑崙山,為漢武帝智竊仙宮蟠桃的民間傳說。畫中將盜者倉惶前行,但仍頻頻回首、凝視珍果的神態,描寫得淋漓盡致,人物飛舞的衣紋線條,筆意恣肆,頗具粗獷寫意的趣味。
本幅為林宗毅先生捐贈。

呂學,字時敏,號海岳,烏程(今浙江湖州)人。善寫照,工人物、佛像及駝馬,兼善山水。
本幅表現東方朔長途跋涉,登上崑崙山,為漢武帝智竊仙宮蟠桃的民間傳說。畫中將盜者倉惶前行,但仍頻頻回首、凝視珍果的神態,描寫得淋漓盡致,人物飛舞的衣紋線條,筆意恣肆,頗具粗獷寫意的趣味。

| Description |
Lu Xue (style name Shimin, sobriquet Haiyue) was a native of Wucheng (modern Huzhou, Zhe-jiang). He excelled at portraiture and was good at figures, Buddhist subjects, and camels and horses as well as landscapes.
This work, a donation of Mr. Lin Zongyi, illustrates the popular legend of Dongfang Shuo’s long journey in climbing the Kunlun Mountains to snatch the peaches of immortality for the Emperor Han Wudi’s palace of immortals. It shows him anxiously walking along with the pilfered peaches as he gazes back greedily at more precious fruit. The brushwork is moist and rich, and the drapery lines dashed off with rhythmic strokes that are sketchy yet vibrant and descriptive.(20091016)

Lu Hsueh (style name Shih-yu, sobriquet Hai-yueh) was a native of Wu-ch’eng (modern Hu-chou, Chekiang). He was good at painting figures and excelled at portraiture, also being capable at landscape subjects.
This work, a donation of Mr. Lin Tsung-i, illustrates the popular legend of Tung-fang Shuo’s long journey in climbing the K’un-lun Mountains to snatch the peaches of immortality from the palace of immortals for Emperor Han Wu-ti. The painting shows him with the pilfered peaches as he gazes back somewhat greedily at more fruit in the tree. The brushwork is moist and rich, and the drapery lines dashed off with rhythmic strokes that are sketchy yet vibrant and descriptive.
