| 內容簡介 |
陳樹人（一八八三-一九四八），原名政，以字行，別署猛進，晚號安定老人，籍隸廣東番禺（今廣州）。早年師事居廉，後赴日本學習東西方繪畫，為嶺南畫派創始人之一。
此幅所繪向天際延伸的兩竿綠竹，大膽將畫面分割成簡單的幾何構圖，佇立在竹葉下的小鳥，運筆簡潔，成了畫幅的視覺焦點，充滿一股清新獨特的氣息。
本幅為林宗毅先生捐贈。

Bamboo and Sparrow
Ch’en Shu-jen (1883-1948)
Republican Period
Ch’en Shu-jen (original name Cheng and going by the style name Shu-jen) also had the name Meng-chin and the late sobriquet An-ting lao-jen. Originally from P’an-yu, Kwangtung (modern Canton), Ch’en at an early age studied the style of Chu Lien and later went to Japan and learned Eastern and Western painting, being one of the original founders of the Ling-nan School.
This work donated by Mr. Lin Tsung-i shows a few segments of two stalks of verdant bamboo, bolding dissecting the painting surface into simple geometric forms. Perched below the leaves is a small bird. The brushwork is straightforward, forming a focus and filling the work with a uniquely pure and fresh manner.
