杜甫麗人行首二句為：「三月三日天氣新，長安水邊多麗人‧‧‧‧‧‧炙手可熱勢絕倫‧‧‧‧‧‧。」所指為楊貴妃得寵，兄姊五家遂成喧赫一時之貴族，甲第洞開，潛擬宮掖，車馬僕從照耀京邑，令人駭嘆。畫中即描寫此種情形。
本幅設色艷麗，惜日久顏色有所脫落。構景充塞畫面，細審幅旁，似應尚有餘景。疑係有所損毀，割裂改裝成軸。

| Description |
The beginning lines of a poem by the T'ang dynasty poet Tu Fu read: "There is a freshness in the air on this third day of the third month, the spring festival day. I see many fair women by the meandering river of Ch'ang-an. These people are peerlessly influential and powerful." These lines describe the appearance and behavior of the Yang families after the concubine Yang Kuei-fei won the favor of the T'ang Emperor, Ming-huang. Members of the five branches of the Yang family would sometimes march in procession through the streets. Associated with the brothers and sisters of Yang Kuei-fei, each of the five branches would form a line and the people in each line, including retainers, servants and guards, would all wear one color. When the five lines paraded together, the spectacle was quite dazzling.
This painting carefully recreates the scene described above. The original bright colors have unfortunately faded with time. The composition appears crowded for a painting of this size and format, suggesting that it was probably once part of a longer scroll.
