| 內容簡介 | 程琳字雩來，乾隆時安徽歙縣人，居浙江嘉興。善花卉，尤工水墨牡丹。 本幅為「畫四時花卉冊」之一幅。程琳以強烈的紅綠色調來表現嬌艷的花朵，和鮮綠的葉子。鮮麗的色彩並不一定落俗，它為本幅帶來富麗與清新的感覺。 |
| Description | Peony Ch’eng Lin (18th century) Ch’ing Dynasty This painting has been selected from the album "Flowers and Plants of the Four Seasons". Ch’eng Lin has used vivid red and green tones to depict the exquisite blossom, using bright green on the leaves. The brilliant tones, however, are anything but vulgar; they lend the painting vigor and freshness. Ch’eng Lin (whose style name was Yu-lai) was from Yi-hsien in Anhwei, but spent most of his life in Chia-hsing, Chekiang. He is noted for his paintings of flowers and plants, particularly for his ink paintings of peonies. |
