內容簡介(英文) |
An octagonal 7-story pavilion-style pagoda of squares with green edges filled with tiny red characters in small standard script for The Diamond Sutra, an important Chan Buddhist scripture. The foundation features double lotus petal layers, each with a large niche and 5 smaller niches painted with Buddha and bodhisattva figures, pagodas, lohans, and heavenly guardians. The pagoda includes the entire sutra, starting from the left edge of the large canopied Buddha niche in the middle of the first level, first with the title from left to right and then following in coiled squares a complete transcription. Sometimes the text doubles back, appearing to circumambulate to the original starting point, making for a unique format of writing this sutra.
