顧安,生卒年不詳。作品見於元順帝至正乙酉(1345)至明太祖洪武癸丑(1373)年間。江蘇人,字定之,工書法,書學趙孟頫,並以專畫墨竹而著稱於世。 畫史上曾提及顧安作懸崖竹,師法宋代的文同(1018-1079)(註1);另作風梢雲幹之竹,則取法於唐代的蕭悅(註2),本幅即為一幅風竹圖。畫竹三枝,枝葉翻飛,迎風搖曳;其下為坡石,新泉漱於石罅,石後還以淡墨畫風葉數梢,以襯托出迷濛的霧氣。作者雖主要在描繪風的態勢和動向,並非完全的對景寫真,卻傳神的表現出了山雨方酣、勁風剽疾時的感覺。畫中竹葉均向同一方向翻轉,使用相同的筆法,與元初的李衎(1245- 1320)相近,惟李氏者較含蓄圓潤,而顧安則有較明顯的落筆痕跡和銳利的筆勢。至於此筆法的淵源,雖畫史上曾謂顧安所畫風竹得蕭悅之法,然從著錄中僅知蕭悅因觀竹影,乃以墨竹寫其意,卻已無作品傳世,無法比對。而若將本幅的用筆比之於文同,則略可發現其間的相關性。(譚怡令)註1:詹景鳳,《東圖玄覽記》卷四,收錄於《美術叢書》(臺北:藝文印書館,1975)五集第一輯,頁189。 註2:朱德潤,《存復齋文集》卷五,頁六,收錄於《四部叢刊續編》(臺北:臺灣商務印書館,1966),集部。

顧安,生卒年未詳。作品見於至正乙酉(西元一三四五)至明洪武癸丑(西元一三七三)年間。江蘇人,字定之。工書法,書學趙孟頫。畫墨竹用筆遒勁,風梢雲幹,揮灑入神。 迎面竹三枝,枝葉風翻,有搖曳之態。竹下坡石,新泉漱於石罅,石後以澹墨作風葉數梢,以襯溟濛霧氣。蓋寫山雨方酣,勁風剽疾之景,而極得其神者也。本幅成於至正十年庚寅(一三五O年)。

Ku An (whose style name was Ting-chih) was a native of Kiangsu. A noted calligrapher, Ku studied Chao Meng-fu's (1254-1322) writing styles. His ink bamboo painting were executed in such a strong, forceful manner that wind appears to catch the plants' leaves as mist swirls through their branches. Three stalks of bamboo stand in the wind, their leaves and branches bent and quivering. The waters of a stream flow through the crevices of a rock in the foreground; behind the boulder stands a clump of bamboo limned in pale ink that communicates the presence of a heavy fog. This painting is extremely successful in capturing the feeling of a windy mountain downpour. It was completed in 1350.
