| 內容簡介（中文） | 吳炳（十二世紀），江蘇常洲人。南宋紹熙年間（一一九○－一一九四），曾經在宮廷畫院裡，擔任待詔的職位。 本幅選自「名繪集珍」冊。畫水稻兩株，在田間婷婷佇立，成串的稻穗，已經俯首低垂。蝴蝶、花虻和蜻蜓，有的兀自在空中飛舞，有的則棲息在葉梢。由於右上方的葉子，和上方的稻穗，均溢出了畫幅的邊界，推測可能是表面曾經遭到污損，才由大裁小，改裝成現在所看到的形式。 | |
| 內容簡介（英文） | Wu Ping, a native of Kiangsu province, was a Southern Sung court artist during the Shao-hsi era (1190-1194) and served as a Painter-in-Attendance. This leaf from the album “Collected Gems of Famous Paintings” shows two rice plants with graceful leaves bearing heavy shoots of grain and drooping under their weight. Without any further background scenery and interspersed among them are two dainty and beautiful butterflies as well as a horse fly. A dragonfly is also shown resting one of the blades of rice. The plants and insects were all rendered with exceptional detail and naturalism. Since the top and left margins of the work appear to end abruptly, this painting may have once been part of a larger one that was trimmed (perhaps due to damage) to create the present form. | |
| 內容簡介（中文） | 畫中水稻兩株前後錯落生長，稻葉宛若蘭葉般修長柔緩地伸展著，垂下青色稻穗，四周飛舞著蝴蝶、花虻和蜻蜓。葉子和稻穗均有部分超出畫幅的邊界，原本或為手卷，後因損壞而裱成冊頁。水稻所在平面實為一片水際，除層層水紋外，還有水面下隱約的水藻。本圖作者雖無法確定是題籤標示的吳炳，但可能與常州傳統有關。又因圖中尚無元代以後較強的圖案化、裝飾性表現，應可視為南宋中後期的草蟲畫作品。(20101015) | |
| 內容簡介（英文） | In this painting are two rice plants, one in front of the other, with their long blades intersecting. The blades are as supple as orchid leaves, the long and slender quality complemented by their delicately curving reach. Light green tassels of grain droop into the space with butterflies, a gadfly, and a dragonfly there. Part of the blades and tassels of grain also extend out of the picture plane, perhaps suggesting this was once part of a handscroll that had been cut and remounted as an album leaf due to damage. The plane in which the rice plants appear is actually water. In addition to the layers of water ripples, hidden beneath the surface are water plants still faintly visible. It is not possible to ascertain whether this work was actually done by Wu Bing or not, but it might be connected to the Changzhou tradition of plant-and-insect painting. Since this work also lacks the more patterned and decorative rendering in Yuan dynasty and later depictions of this subject matter, it can thus be considered a plant-and-insect painting likely to have been done in the latter part of the Southern Song period.(20101015) | |
