內容簡介(中文) 本幅兩樹石意似未盡,應是殘存長卷的一段。平野上林木凋零,天色慘淡欲雪,小徑上兩翁且行且談,一童挑擔尾隨。樹枝用筆圓勁,直如篆籀,垂藤生動,勢若驚蛇。全幅用筆細謹,墨法精絕,為宋無名款畫中之傑出者。 此畫繪北方清曠蕭森之景,這種寒林平野的主題是由北宋李成所創,但圖中坡石皴染和樹木枝椏的佈置已有郭熙的影響,人物畫法精練傳神,是北宋風格。因此本圖就算不出於郭熙,也是時代相去不遠之作。右側飛雁一行,筆調單薄,與全圖氣韻不合,可能是後人所補。
內容簡介(英文) The slope and trees at either end of this scroll appear incomplete, perhaps indicating it is a section from a longer scroll. The frigid trees in the flat-distance scene reach to the dark skies that threaten to snow. On the path, two old men converse as they walk, followed by a servant with bundles. The meticulous brushwork and exquisite application of ink rank it with the finest unsigned Sung works. The brushwork of the branches of the sparse undergrowth scattered across the landscape calls to mind ancient large-seal calligraphic script. This work represents an expansive and desolate view of China's north. The theme of wintry trees was begun by Li Ch'eng(916-967), but the texturing, washes, and trees here suggest the later style of Kuo Hsi(1023-ca.1085). The figures are spirited and refined in the Northern Sung style. Although unclear as to whether this is by Kuo, it is not far from his time. However, the geese in the upper right corner are over-simplified, suggesting a later hand.
